1. Anne Frances Hughes (née Ford, 1826–1910), daughter of Rev. Dr. James Ford (1797–1877), prebendary of Exeter, and his wife, Jane Frances (née Nagle, 1799–1893). On 17 August 1847, Anne married Thomas Hughes (1822–96), author of Tom Brown’s School Days (Cambridge, 1857).
