Offered for sale in Anderson’s Catalogue, 22 May 1916, lot 41. 1 p., 4to., being the last sheet of a letter. EBB writes: “How cold it is, one month so like another that I am apt to forget the name of each. Only this present one cant be July. I can tell that without any memory at all. I am glad you like Bulwer, he is the poet of our prose.”
1. The daughter (1814-78) of the Rev. James Bordman, Curate of Ickham, Kent, and his wife, Eleanor (née Page). EBB had met her in 1831, when she visited Boyd in the company of Boyd’s sister (see Diary, p. 58). The friendship between her and EBB lasted until the latter’s death.
