2. Arthur Penrhyn Stanley (1815–81), son of Edward Stanley (1779–1849), Bishop of Norwich, and his wife, Catherine (née Leycester, 1792–1862), was made Dean of Westminster in January 1864. He married in December 1863 Lady Augusta Bruce (1822–76); see letter 3038, note 11.
