RB thanks Mrs. Sturgis on behalf of himself and his son, adding: “Here are the photographs of which I spoke—among them is a poor black little thing, you may still care to see, with some writing at the back, which please show to Edith, as she will be able to correct a copy of it which I tried to make the other day for her.”

1. Date based on the reference to Edith Story, who was staying with the Sturgises while her parents were in America (see letter 5613, note 2), and the mention of photographs, which were recently taken (see letter 5617, note 2).
