1. Alexander Melville Bell (1819–1905), speech therapist and elocutionist, father of Alexander Graham Bell (1847–1922). The elder Bell gave two series of elocution lessons to Pen, ending, evidently, in March 1866 (see letter 5732). In a letter to Joseph Milsand, dated [25 October 1865], Sarianna writes that Pen has “gained wonderfully in articulation” (see SD2792).
