My dear Browning

If you are in London perhaps I might have a chance of seeing you on Sunday? Possibly you will go to the Reverend Mr Jones’s church– [1] I should be glad to go there if I knew where it was, & a short journey anywhere afterwards with you would suffice to do me great good for months to come.

I go tomorrow (Friday) to Edward Jones, 41 Kensington Square, returning on Monday.

Tennyson is well– I dined with him on Thursday last—and let me add that great He is, like little me,

most truly yours.

1. Bedford Chapel, in Charrington Street, N.W., where the Rev. Thomas Jones (1819–82) preached from about 1861 to 1869. After RB’s return to London in 1861, he accompanied Arabella Moulton-Barrett to the chapel on a regular basis until her death. RB provided an introduction to a posthumous collection of Jones’s sermons, The Divine Order and Other Sermons and Addresses, ed. Brynmor Jones (1884). He is listed in RB’s address book of this period (AB-5) at “44 Albert St. (nr Yk & Alby.).”
