Nov. 23. ’65.
Dear Sir,
I confess I do not see what “introduction” your procedure wants beyond the great kindness implied by it. Thank you very heartily: I never heard of the author, book, or passage before: to people busied with researches into the sources of Shakespeare’s knowledge it must be a capital indication,—to me, it is interesting in itself, more interesting from the pleasant way in which it has come before me.
Pray believe me yours truly & obligedly
Robert Browning.
Publication: None traced.
Manuscript: Armstrong Browning Library.
