<***> Irvingites. He remains the pastor of a Baptist church. From Mr Curzon I have not heard of in <mon>ths, but am expecting a letter from him daily.

We remain as unsettled as ever in Gloucester Place: & whether we shall settle before the winter, is more than I can say—altho’ I can feel its approach thro’ these black days. How cold it is!—& we in September—or October!—for one month is so like another to me that I am apt to forget the name of each. Only this present one certainly cant be July. I can tell that, without any memory at all.

I am glad you admired Bulwer. He is the poet of our prose. If the Spirit of our God wd make holy what is so bright!– Would that it were so!–

Tell me when you write, exactly how you are & give in the meanwhile my regards to Mrs Bordman—& believe me yourself

1. Month and year provided by postmark. The postmark provides the first digit of the day. In September 1836 Thursday fell on the 22nd and 29th. EBB’s reference to “September—or October” makes the 29th the more likely day.
