My dear Mr Browning,

He came home yesterday and brought me your kind gift [1] doubly dear to me as your gift and a memorial of one who in a few short hours could plant herself in the heart for life.

Accept my affectionate thanks. I pray you.

It rejoices me that he has seen you & I hope you know what a large portion of his pleasure in a visit to Town consists in seeing you. May the good day some day come when we shall have the privilege of welcoming you here
