My dear Allingham,
I am just going—as good, or as bad as—gone: I start to-morrow for Bretagne. You know how glad I should have been to see you—why take such a time for a visit? So one asks questions at one’s ease! Not that I am at my ease, however. Manage better next time!
Ever yours most truly
Robert Browning.
