I have been in France these two months, and only returned last night: thank you heartily for the letter I find, and its invitation which I would have accepted so gladly. I hope you know how much I sympathize with, and wish all good to you and yours.

Lady Cowper has also remembered me, I should think Lady Adine [2] is as loveable as lovely: surely Julian will be as happy as he deserves. And you, dear Lady Westmorland, what do you not deserve?—and what happiness should not be yours were it but in the gift of
