RB writes: “Milsand accepts your invitation with great pleasure, it is not certain whether I can or cannot do so, [1] —for I am summoned to help on the Grand Jury at Clerkenwell, that very day; and, in my ignorance, have fancies about being kept then and there till past the time for getting to you, let me ‘meliora piis’ [2] —and in that case, expect a joyful visitor—particularly anxious to see Mrs. Ruskin again.”

1. RB was able to attend (see SD2849).
