[London]
[11 August 1837] [1]
My dear friend,
You will be glad to hear that we had a short letter from Annie this morning, & that she describes herself as “immeasurably happy.” May God bless her with that happiness which comes immediately from Him! We have heard too, from Eliza Cliffe. She wrote to enquire about the marriage which she saw noticed in a newspaper,—& to desire her earnest & kind wishes & congratulations to you!——
Affectionately yours
EBB.
Annie goes to Richmond on Monday.
You will see me sooner than you prefer.
Address, on integral page: H S Boyd Esqr / 3, Circus Road / St John’s Wood.
Publication: Weaver, pp. 415–416.
Manuscript: Huntington Library.
1. In letter 583, EBB speaks of hearing from Annie ten days after her wedding on 1 August.
