Tuesday, Jan: 15. ’67.

Dear Mr Dean,

I was so vexed at again being obliged to forego the pleasure of accepting your invitation, thro’ a previous engagement, that I tried, in some measure, to make up for my losses by a call on you: and I shall venture to repeat the experiment before long.

With best compliments to Mrs Milman, pray believe me

Very faithfully yours

Robert Browning
