2. Sir Arthur Charles Magenis (see letter 5755, note 6) died on 14 February 1867 at 31 Dover Street.
3. Henrietta Elizabeth Froude (née Warre, 1824–74), daughter of John Ashley Warre and his wife, Florence Catherine (née Magenis), sister of the deceased. She married Froude, as his second wife, in 1861.
4. i.e., the dinner planned for 21 February.
