Offered for sale by Myers, Catalogue 336, item 47. 1 p., 8vo. Quoting the words of Portia, RB writes: “In measure rain thy joy, scant this excess, for fear I surfeit,” [2] in connection with his “self-denial in keeping away from Mr Macready this long week, and not forgetting his thousand cares in my desire to see him.”

1. Browning’s desire to see Macready might have been in relation to the production of Strafford, 1 May 1837.
