Dear Sir:
As intimated in our former letter [1] we now have the pleasure to address you respecting the transmission of the Early sheets of your new volume for which we have Engaged to pay you the sum of Two Hundred Pounds Sterling. We shall desire the sheets of the entire work to be in our hands one month at least before the day of publication in England—to ensure which, it will be necessary to send two Sets—the first Seven weeks before the English publication, and the duplicate by the following steamer. Please have the sheets done up in small packets not Exceeding two ounces in weight for each packet & send through the post prepaying each one with a penny stamp and marking it “by book-post.”
We shall be glad to receive from you immediately intelligence as to the probable date of publication and the title of the book,—in order that we may make our announcements.
