My dear Sir

I was not able to show your Letter, (wh: reached me at the crisis of the Examinations) to those persons whom I thought it concerned. I have since done so & all concur with me in expressing the great satisfaction & pride they put in your becoming a member of the University of Oxford. We hope & trust that before another year is past, you may have the right of voting in Convocation.
