My dear Mr Gillespie,

My friend, Mr W. C. Cartwright, would be very glad if you could oblige him by writing and appointing an hour on which you would call & see him. He has two sons, of 11 & 12 years, [1] who require a Tutor: I don’t at all know whether it would suit you to undertake the care of them, but I should be delighted if you are able to make any arrangement. Mr Cartwright is anxious to see you this week if possible,—mention any hour, and he will attend you at the place where he is now,—having just arrived from the Continent,—the Coburg Hotel, Charles Street, Grosvenor Square. I write in the greatest haste, in order that no time may be lost.

Mr Cartwright is a dear friend of mine,—it will at any rate be worth while to see what he wants.
