Have you any further intelligence to convey to us respecting your Poem? [1] We have been constantly looking forward for the last eight months to the receipt of it, but as yet have heard nothing.

Will you do us the favor of informing us what your plans are with reference to its publication? We are, dear Sir

1. The Ring and the Book (see letter 5904). The American edition was published in Boston by Fields, Osgood, & Co. (successors to Ticknor and Fields) in two volumes, the first on 30 November 1868, and the second on 10 March 1869.
