My dear Miss Garrow,

I have just received a parcel from our friend Mr Kenyon & he requests me to send you the accompanying volume–

Very many thanks—while I am writing—for the beautiful flowers which I owe to your & Miss Fisher’s kindness some days ago—the very day I think, that you were in this house without my seeing you– I did not like it at all—but the hour being so late & the penalties so high, there was no choice left to me– In a few days I indeed hope to see you & your sister—to whom do offer my regards.

1. The form of salutation clearly places this after letter 671. The reference to Kenyon suggests that it follows letter 673, as EBB had not then heard from him.
