To my extreme mortification I am prevented from availing myself of your kindness next Saturday; an engagement of a peculiar nature, & over which I have no control, will, I trust—(nay, am sure—) excuse me when I shall be able, in a few days, to procure a long intended pleasure by calling at Russell Square– Pray believe me, with truest regards to the Sergeant, My dear Mrs Talfourd,
