Monday Mg [June 1840] [1]
Dear Macready,
Since I saw you I have considerably altered and, I hope, improved my play; [2] the three acts are now five, as you advised, and go the better for it—such as they are I will send them as soon as I can—but I am not in the best health, and my copyist is from home. [3] —this I mention lest you should think me sleepy or sulky this wondrous June-weather .. while I am, with best regards to Mrs and Miss Macready,
Ever yours
R Browning.
Publication: NL, p. 20.
