Wednesday. Sept 28th.

Wrote to Miss Price, because Bummy wanted me to write to Sir Robert[1] & enclose a letter for her. Hearing the boys—and now; it is agreed that we shall go to the Wyche!— Shall I go anywhere below the Wyche!— How happy I should be if I could! But no—I must not mention it; & if Bummy mentions it, she will be very good natured, & I — — very glad!—

Rain came on—& thunder & lightening besides,—so there is no going. I read some of Dionysius Tractatus de priscis scriptoribus. Not Dionysius’s really, I suppose—& not very interesting.

1. Miss Price’s brother, Sir Robert Price (1786–1857), Member of Parliament for the County of Hereford 1818–41, and for the City of Hereford 1845–56. He succeeded to the baronetcy upon the death of their father, Sir Uvedale Price, in 1829.
