Finished my writing out: but I am not sure about the first choral ode after all. That ξυμπιπνων, & the extra βυθος which both Scholefield & Blomfield introduce.[1]
1. ξυμπιπνων is a misspelling of ξυμπιτνων, “dashing together”; βυθος: “the deep.” Bothe’s edition of Prometheus Vinctus, which E.B.B. was using as the basis for her translation, differs slightly in this passage (p. 33) from the other versions she cited.
