Sunday. April 8—
A & I did not go to church. I finished St. John’s Gospel in Greek: not in Nonnus’s Greek. E Cliffe came.
Went down to the gate. Miss H M was there, & brought me Synesius’s hymns[1] from Mr. Boyd. He was sorry that he had not lent them to me before! Miss H M & Annie do not go tomorrow. I cant help feeling something like being sorry. They may not go until next week.
Read two hymns of Synesius this evening. I think I like him.
