[Paris—Tuesday, 15 November 1859]

Tuesday 15th Our wedding day. Dear Jamie brought me fresh flowers which he found in spite of the frosty air and a sweet dear poem from the love that is always fresh. We determined to ask Mrs Hoppin &c because we knew them to be a little lonely while Mr H. was away. Madame Busque sent gingerbread & other yankee delicacies. Mr Huntingdon  arrived in the evening and talked of pictures. We like him. Altogether we had a most happy day. Too thankful and happy to believe it was all quite true, or being true than we knew how to acknowledge.
