[Paris—Thursday, 24 November 1859]

Thursday 24th Thanksgiving day at home in dear old Massachusetts.

Mr and Mrs Hoppin had invited us to dine with them on Turkey and Mme. Busque’s pumpkin pie which we did punctually at 3. We knew Mr Hoppin was to preach at the American Chapel so we early bent our steps there, most happy to feel ourselves again in a church we enjoyed. Heard an excellent sermon and enjoyed a long talk with Mr Hoppin in the evening also. Called on the Bigelows.
