[Boston—Monday, 18 February 1867]

Monday. Lovely spring-like weather. Lissie’s pictures come on well—as Mr Doll (the dealer) says, and he is a capital critic of pictures, the idea in them is good. She is doing a sketch of Miss Falvey for the Wheelock fund collection from photograph.

Cretan concert in the afternoon with Mrs Osgood & mother.

Went to a meeting of the ladies Club at Mrs Silsbee’s. She read a very capital paper upon social life in Salem (her native place) during the last 50 years. It was witty and brilliant.
