Monday. A half clouded lovely summer day. Took a short drive in the morning. Dear J. is to speak to the people on “Cheerfulness” this evening!!
A soft rain set in by nightfall but the church was full & his reception very cordial. He came home delighted with a large bouquet and the gratitude of the people in repayment.
