[Boston—Sunday, 27 September 1874]

Sunday. General Mac Clurg at breakfast & dear brother Robert Collyer. Little Boylston came down dressed in his Sunday best looking fresh as the day. What a sermon our dear friend preached! Beautiful, inspiring. It was at Mr. J.F. Clarke’s.

At supper at ½ past 8, after R.C. sermon came George Dawson the English preacher. I thought him dirty and coarse.
