24—Bitter cold day. The great Centennial Ball.

Celia sailed from Portsmouth home on Tuesday we presume. She left here Monday. Monday night there was a blinding snow-storm but Tuesday suddenly became brilliantly beautiful and warm; we fancied her sailing home in the lovely afternoon.
