5. In another place we have spoken at some length of the tragedy of Strafford. In this department, considering it merely as a poem, it is enough to say that it is a sad falling off after the Paracelsus of the same author. Did not the title-page give us assurance of the fact, we could not believe that it proceeded from the same hand. There is not a gleam of true poetry in it, from the first scene to the last.
