Sadler’s Wells.—Browning’s play of A Blot in the ’Scutcheon, which was originally produced at Drury-lane, was revived here on Monday night. It is more a poem than a play; and we doubt the policy of again bringing it forward, though there are in it some beautiful expressions, fine thoughts, and bold imagery. We must not, however, neglect to state that the performance of the piece was admirable; Mr. Phelps played the principal character very carefully, and occasionally with startling effect, and Miss Cooper did much for a weak and injudicious rôle.
