R640605A.  Dramatis Personæ.

The Observer, 5 June 1864, p. 3.

Listed in The Brownings’ Correspondence, 31, 340.

A volume of poems from Mr. Browning can hardly fail to be welcome to all lovers of poetry. There are about a score of poems in the present volume, the subjects varied from the pretty legend of “Pornic” to an exposure of “Mr. Sludge the Medium and the Spiritualists.” There are many noble passages in the poems, and much that is worthy and some that is not quite worthy of the genius of Robert Browning.
