Dear Sir

I regret that indisposition prevents my waiting upon you to converse in the matter referred to in the annexed paragraph of a letter which last packet brought me from Mr E M Barrett. But you will perhaps have the goodness to consider it & let me know your opinion. If it be favorable to the removal—that is if you think the letter a sufficient warrant for you, Mr Sam Barrett and myself as friends of the deceased & of the surviving family connections, I would suggest that you or I write today to Sam. that he may not leave the Island until the removal be accomplished. I do not know what course to take in such cases– I suppose the application must be to the Rector or to the magistrates with concurrence of the Rector.
