My Dear Sir,
I wrote Capt Selby & requested him to deliver a Message to you thinking you were at the Bay, & I also wrote you yesterday by Mr Crow (who promised to leave the letter at Messrs Dewar’s Store for you) that I was very sorry the unfortunate state of Mrs Kitchen’s health would prevent my meeting you at the Bay, but that I had requested Dr Spence to take charge of Bloomsbury &c from you & as soon as ever Dr Anderson thinks I could with safety leave Mrs Kitchen I would go down–
I wrote you also on other business– I regret much it has so happened, as I should like to have met you & taken charge of the Place &c– Sir Joshua Rowe wrote me he understood we were not likely to be offered more than £1200 to £1500 for the Property & at that he should like to have the refusal, but as he would only buy it as an investment he could not give £2000 for it–
Mrs K does not appear so well today she is very low
