Dear Sir,

Some Weeks ago I received from Mr Tinkler (forwarded by your desire) an Account against Oxford and Cambridge Estates for Contingencies paid by your late uncle shewing a Balance of £168.11.4 3/4 Due the Estate of the late S.M. Barrett– I was in Trelawney the Week before last, and I was in hopes I could have met you to arrange our Accounts, but I was informed you left Cambridge for Kingston the day before I arrived there– I now |receive| a statement of our Account in which you will observe I have Counted the Amount due by Oxford & Cambridge Estates, which I have not introduced in my Accounts with these Properties, but have mentioned to your Father that it is a charge to come against him, which I will thank you to confirm– On your return to the Country we can close the Account– I was much disappointed (when I heard you had been at Cambridge and Oxford the Day before I arrived) I had not known your intention of visiting those Estates before your departure, and I should have made a point of meeting you there– I think you must have been pleased with the appearance of Cambridge under all circumstances and I was sorry to find Oxford not so forward– I have had a slight degree of fever since my return from the Northside–
