Dear Sir:

I came here yesterday Evening & regret not finding you at home & had I known that you intended to remain so long at the Retreat I would have proceeded on & met you there. I shall now wait in the neighbourhood till I have the pleasure of seeing you. Mr Tincler [sic, for Tinkler] informs me that you may be looked for home on Thursday. An accident which I met with has prevented my being up at the time I intended[.]
