Dear Sir

As you have perhaps in some measure anticipated that on my arrival in this country I should take charge of these Properties: I trust when I communicate that such is my intention, you may not feel yourself treated with any want of courtesy on my part in not having stated so when I left the country last year– I had intended communicating this to you personally, but have since thought a written opinion of the condition of the Property might prove more gratifying to yourself: and I beg to assure you that under existing circumstances you have done the fullest justice to the Properties, & in my opinion established your character as a successful manager. I will further observe that if at any future period it should be in my power to advance your interests I shall feel happy in doing so. Wishing you every success.
