Dear Sir

The immense Loss which the Estate of Mr Doman has sustained by the Trelawney Wharf in 1837 will be sufficient to induce Mr Barrett to abandon any additional Charge on the sum agreed on.– There is no doubt but that Mr S M Barrett received the 4 days additional Rent on the Wharf thro’ the Receivership Properties and consequently it is only an Act of Justice to deduct it.–

I should be very sorry indeed that any difference should arise at the final settlement of accounts between Mr Barrett & the Exors of Doman. We are both representatives one of an opulent Estate, the other of a property which has it not been for the Exors would long since have been destroyed– Mr S M Barrett was so much concerned of this that he offered me to give up a years Rent of the Wharf at the Demise of Mr Doman, if I would pay him what was otherwise due, and Set him at once into possession, this I declined doing and paid every farthing of claim he had–
