Dear Barrett
Your man only arrived here yesterday, when I started him off to Newell; the mules have got so far on their way today, one of them got his hind foot cut nearly to the bone at the fetlock by Glass bottle at the Grane: the others are quite well. Enclosed are sundry Bills of parcels & receipts. Two mules I purchased for you are sent, also the two poneys, one mule I mentioned to you when here I have not been able to get in, it is some where at Fort Hill.
If you wish to purchase any more mules to make up a spe<…> for next year, let me know & I will do it for you, or should you req<uir>e any Stock by letting me know in time I can get them for you. I send you a letter to John Davis desiring him to pay you for the poney he purchased of me two years ago, he ought to give £25 but if he pays four doubloons to you give him a receipt for me. Heath is not yet returned home therefore I cannot give you any answer about the sheep. As soon as I go up to Manchester I will write you if I see a horse that will match your pair. Let me know about the logwood as soon as you can.
The people start tomorrow morning, the lame mule must be left here for some time, when quite well I will let you know, if able to travel I shall bring it over with me when I come. Remember me to your Brother &c
