Ever dearest Sam. I have begged for this corner of Henrietta’s letter to try to apologize to you for not fulfilling my promise to you of sending that unfortunate picture by Capt Selby—but you must remember, I was dispatched to Torquay at a moment’s notice, & had not time to think of any thing—much less to <fin>ish Setts & Occys portraits. You must f<orgiv>e me– I have been working a pair of <portraits> for you since I came here, & these I have been prevented from sending |also|– So that I am dreadfully provoked– But you shall have them. The letter will be too late for the post if I keep it any longer Hentta must <have> told you all the news in this well filled letter[.] My very best love to dearest Stormie[.] May God bless you both.
