My dear Barrett

Alic informs me that you called on me yesterday & wished to know whether I had not paid 1800l on your account to B P S & Co– I have their receit for that sum paid to them on your account on the 19 January. and you ought to find a credit of that sum under that date in your account Current. If it is not there the omission must be a mistake which they will rectify– I can shew you their receit at any time. You may perhaps recollect that you desired me to pay 1800l to them out of the money remitted by Mr Clarke & the remainder to your banker whose receit dated 4h feby. I accordingly have for 492l14s being the balance of my account with you.

Can you inform me of Martin Williams address. He was elected yesterday a member of the Jama Club &, I paid 2 guineas for him—being the only person in the room that knew him. If you chance to see him pray mention this to him, and that he must send his address to the |Thatched House| that they may know where to direct to him–
