… I am glad to hear that Mrs Browning has not suffered by the unusually cold season. God grant that she may live many years yet, and recover at least some portion of her health. Never was I so deeply indebted to any earthly Being as I am to Browning. Several times he has written very urgent letters to obtain the few pictures, 4 or 5, which I had not given to my family. Mrs L. sent them at last, together with a small part of my books. … About the pictures I can say nothing, beside my resolution to give to Browning; or his son, if the father persists in his refusal. …
