My Beloved Sister

… You may have heard of a very splendid portrait William has just finished of Mrs Crawford wife of the Sculptor—it is extravagantly admired and the most wonderfully fine of all his pictures. Our friends Mr Story and Mr Browning (who by the by lives just over us) urge very much our going to Paris to live—Mr Story going there himself to live and Mr B. feeling that his light is too much buried under a bushel here—we think some what of doing so—after some time—I’ve no idea when—nor do I think that W. could stand a winter in Paris—he is not any too well here—so I don’t know how it will be—he—W—is going to work on a large picture soon the subject sacred. …
