… Well then– On Saturday Morning I breakfasted with Kenyon– He had with him Browning one of the young half crazy poets whose prose conversation is much more agreeable than their wild verses[.] He had also two Americans with him Elijah Wright the translator of LaFontaine[.] And a Captn Wormley who having entered into the English Marine has as much as possible redeemed the Sin of his birth– Both are strong abolitionists[.] And I felt at liberty to express myself unreservedly both as to Slavery & Repudiation …
