1. Alfred Moxon (1823–58), youngest child, of nine, and fifth son of Michael Moxon, of Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and his wife, Ann (née Watson). Edward Moxon (1801–58), the publisher, was Alfred's eldest brother.

2. Henry John Arnold (1820–73), cheese manufacturer and seed merchant, of Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.
