My dear Barrett

I know not how to thank you sufficiently for the manner in which Mary & myself were received in Ledbury, and in its Vicinity which we were somewhat astonished at, as we were greatly in hopes of passing thro’ very quietly—pray make our very best compliments to Mr Brown & his Cavalcade, and say how much we are obliged to him, and that we have no doubt but that the fortunate old shoe, will be of service– Mrs Watton put a letter into my hands from Rickards to yourself—concerning that business of |Dirks|– I must beg of you to call upon them, and settle it in any way you can for me, as I fear I shall not have it in my power to arrange every thing as I could wish in time enough for the parties– I really am quite ashamed at again writing upon such a subject, but I hope my difficulties are now nearly at an End<.> I sincerely rejoice with you at the happy Event that has so lately taken place, and am delighted to find that dear Mary & little Sam are doing so well– I must conclude and shall be happy to hear from you directed to Fenham with best compliments to your Party in which Mary joins me & Ever believe me
