My dear friend,
I send, for Fanny, a copy of a photograph of Mrs. Browning, taken just a month before her death. Robert Browning writes to me that the likeness is “all he could desire.” It was the last picture ever taken of her, and as such has some peculiar interest. You know my long enthusiasm for Mrs. Browning. I do not know whether you share it or not, but I believe Fanny does. …
